A Place of Stillness in Art and beyond

Before the end of the year, I find it essential to pause - not to rush into resolutions, but to reflect. To find a place of stillness in art and my life.
To observe what has already been lived, created, and felt.
This quiet analysis of life, goals, and rhythm is, for me, the first step toward fulfilling future dreams.

I am well-travelled, yet the French Riviera holds a uniquely special place in my heart.
It is a landscape I return to every year, regardless of season. Each visit reveals a different quality of light, atmosphere, and emotion - and each season carries its own beauty.
This year, I spent a few days there once again.
A time of deep inner recharge.
Whatever my plans may be while travelling, I always find a moment to stop.
To remain still.
To observe the sea.

The Mediterranean here has a presence that feels both powerful and intimate - a quiet force that invites reflection. Looking at the sea, I reconnect with a sense of clarity and calm that is difficult to replace elsewhere.
These moments of stillness are an essential part of my creative process.
They nourish not only my work, but my inner landscape - where ideas begin long before they take form.
In a world that constantly urges us forward, returning to stillness becomes not a retreat, but a necessary beginning.

This philosophy will soon extend beyond my personal practice. In the year ahead, I will be opening a limited series of signature art retreats - intimate gatherings where creation, well-being, and meaningful presence come together in carefully chosen, soul-recharging locations.
Further details will be shared as the journey unfolds.
With Love
OJ
